All qualified electors for the City of Ruidoso Downs are advised it is their responsibility to make changes to reflect their new address assigned during the Emergency 911 Addressing process. Voters should also complete new forms if they have moved or changed their name.
Any person who will be 18 by Election Day is eligible to register. Voter registration forms are available from the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office and the Motor Vehicle Department as well as at City Hall of the City of Ruidoso Downs between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Absentee and early voting
Absentee voting for the Sept. 4 Special Municipal Election will begin on July 31 and will end Aug. 31. Voters wishing to vote by absentee may request an application to vote by absentee by calling the City Clerk’s Office at 378-4422 or email at cvirden@ruidosodowns.us. no earlier than 35 days prior to the election and no later than 5 p.m. on the Friday immediately prior to the date of the election.
The application will be mailed to your address. If you wish to come to the City Clerk’s Office to request the application, the office is located in City Hall at 123 Downs Drive. An absentee ballot may not be taken out of the City Clerk’s Office. You may vote the ballot in the office, or have it mailed to your address.
Early voting begins on Aug. 15 and ends Aug. 31. Voters wishing to vote prior to Election Day may come to the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday, file an application, and cast their vote by voting machine.
